Publisher’s Description
The Stitchin’ Post yarn shop is central gossip in all of Linden Falls. Well, at least the Linden Falls Knitters like to keep everyone aware of all the comings and goings of the quaint Vermont town.
There’s no doubt the old King Building being renovated for a new artesian center is going to bring more business to the small town.
Or so you’d think.
Things take a turn when the new center starts to hurt the local small business owner’s bottom line, making several suspects after a vocal local turns up dead.
No amount of wishes on the Wishing Tree is going to bring him back to life, but finding the killer will bring life back to the town.
When the Linden Falls Knitters’ gossip turns up some real clues that unravel more clues as they put their crafty skills to work as they work together to figure out who thought they were knitting together the perfect murder.

Main Characters:
- Cheryl – 28-year-old owner of the Stitchin’ Post, a yarn shop in Linden Falls where locals gather for the Knitters Club to work on knitting projects…and to gossip
- Sharon – Cheryl’s best friend, works at an architecture firm
- Zeke and Darlene – married couple with an organic farm. Zeke has been protesting the opening of an artesian market because of the high cost of a booth and the fact that it will draw customers away from the weekly farmer’s market
Tonya Kappes was a new author for me, so when I reached the end of the book, I read the “From Tonya” section. She said here that when she was asked to be a part of this series, “…I did question whether or not they knew I killed people…in fiction of course.” I did not know she kills people!!
What an end to this series…a murder mystery! I won’t give away whodunit because that would just be wrong. As the owner of the Stitchin’ Post and the host for the Knitter’s Circle, Cheryl is privy to all of the gossip…especially over the opening of the costly artesian market. And when she hears gunshots outside her cabin and then finds out someone was murdered nearby, she feels driven to investigate. And it’s a good thing Cheryl narrates the book so we know she’s not the killer because someone definitely tries to make it look like she is.
Cheryl excels at listening to gossip and forming her own conclusions, but she’s not a professional investigator. So while she seems quite capable of getting people to talk to her, she doesn’t do a very good job at catching the killer. And she believes in her suspects’ innocence long before I would have.
She wants to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and most of them don’t deserve it. Honestly, I suspected <blankity blank> because <blankity blank blank blank>, and I was either right or wrong. (I told you I wasn’t going to give it away. You just have to read it for yourself.) 😄
Linden Falls is a small town where bad things haven’t really happened until now, and I’m here for it. Now I wish there were a dozen more books in the series.
I have always been a fan of thrillers, and I have not been one to seek out cozy mysteries in the past. I will definitely seek them out in the future…Tonya Kappes cozy mysteries in particular. 😉
